Reba is a Sociology and Peace Studies professor at the College of Charleston. When not teaching, she’s caring for her newly acquired vineyard in the Willamette Valley, where she cultivates Pinot Gris grapes. What began as a dream became reality when she had a wild idea to ‘manifest a vineyard.’ In 2021, after launching the Instagram account @ManifestaVineyard she began immersing herself in books on turning ideas into action, and her journey took off. With no previous experience in farming or winemaking, and as an academic who values knowledge, Reba began taking courses in both fields. Releasing doubt and allowing for what the universe would bring, she believed and walked steadfastly toward her goal.
Two years later, the magic happened—a vineyard serendipitously and graciously came seemingly out of nowhere -- an unimaginable gift. This special place has a name, Wildjoy Vineyard.
Reba believes the social experiment called life is a blending of intentional action with faith in the miraculous unknown. This allows her to experience untold joys -- on the other side of disbelief. Today, the first vintage of her wine, Wildjoy Pinot Gris, is a testament to following her soul’s callings and believing in what others might consider mere fantasies or daydreams.
So… she is curious, “What’s calling your soul?”
